DAIKIN INDUSTRIES adopted RICOS Lightning to improve the efficiency of compressor design for air-conditioning systems.
The validation project, launched in 2024, focused on using AI to predict refrigerant flow inside compressors rapidly and accurately. Conventional simulations of these flows could require approximately half a day to complete.
Following the validation work and the presentation of its results at an academic conference, DAIKIN adopted RICOS Lightning in 2025.
The initiative aims not only to reduce simulation time but also to create an analysis environment that can be used by a broader range of employees, including product designers.
